Breaking Down Free Agency

There have been so many Free Agent moves over the past couple of weeks that it is hard not to do a blog about it.

The Free Agent Period started a couple weeks ago.  Teams could release players, allow them to test free agency, or tender them for a draft pick.  Over the free agent period, some of the most surprising moves (in my opinion) include Jerome Harrison only being tendered at second round, and other smart moves that teams have made.  Mostly like the Ravens getting Anquan Boldin.  Their defense is still holding steady, and they have a great running game and pretty good QB's, so they went out there and got a solid receiver to help Derick Mason.

Also, a pair of 30-plus running backs have been released during the free agent period, Thomas Jones, and LaDainian Tomlinson.  Tomlinson just today signed with the Jets.  Lets hope that Shonn Greene is still the starting running back over there, and this was just a move to get a solid third down back. Only the Raiders, Lions, Chiefs, or Browns GM's would be that stupid or desperate after all.  What seems ironic to me is that they get a 30 year old RB, after just releasing a thirty year old running back.  Despite struggling in the playoffs, Jones is a much better RB right now than L.T.  If the Jets were going to have a 30 year old RB, it should've been Jones.  A team that took interest in L.T was the Vikings after giving Chester Taylor to the Bears.  L.T would've been a much better fit their, and probably would've gotten more playing time too.

At last report one of the teams that took interest in Jones, was the Chiefs (didn't I tell you the Chiefs GM was stupid?).  First of all, the Chiefs already have this one guy, what was his name again, oh yeah, Jamaal Charles.  Secondly they could use the money on getting some useful defensive players. Sometimes moves like that just make you wonder.

So what is your best moment to share about free agency?  Anything surprise you?  Talk it up!  And be sure to read my next blog coming out on Thursday. See Ya Later!
